Marco Lau | ARTISTS STATEMENT

As an artist I am always searching. Searching for the unseen-that which lies just beneath the surface waiting to be revealed. It is that revelation and my natural curiosity that motivates me to explore the world I live in. In doing so I am given the opportunity to express myself and share my unique vision and perspective with others. I try to depict my subjects as honestly and purely as possible. Most of my photographs were asking to be taken. When you are aware, open and searching- you have the primary elements necessary in order to create. With courage, purpose and a discerning eye the unseen will reveal itself to you- even for just an instant. When that happens it is then your responsibility as an artist to capture it as best and faithfully as you possibly can.
